Common Name: Bayberry, Northern

Thrives in poor sandy to heavy clay soils.  Very salt tolerant as well and often found along the seashore.  Excellent deciduous plant for mass plantings, borders, or mixing with evergreens for texture in the landscape.  Grows in poor soil conditions where other plants fail to survive.
